Baby!

So I sorta babynapped this little one to an upstairs bedroom when she was 3 days old so I could get some shots of her. Poor mama got to laughing so hard she had to go rest, so I got lots of baby snuggles. Meet my newest second cousin.

Country Music Fest 2011

I have been so busy this summer. Between Music Fest, an unplanned trip that I won (pics from that later), softball trips and our family vacation I don't think I was in town for a full week at a time all summer. It's been amazing! Thought I'd share several of the shots I got this year at my annual Music Fest trip. This year's highlights included my daughter meeting Dave Haywood at the condo we rented, Keith Urban sitting on the stage just feet in front of me, then disappearing into the crowd, only to emerge at the row right behind our seats where my mom and daughter were still sitting, and then meeting Neal McCoy (more on that later, as well).

Viewing Gallery

For those of you who have had recent sessions with me, my viewing gallery site has been moved. Your photos may be viewed at http://amomentsuspended.zenfolio.com/

I am also now able to take credit card payments for your sessions and print orders. Hopefully both changes will make your experience with us easier and more positive.

Senior guy

Did you know I love this kid? Even though he was LESS than thrilled to have to have his photos taken, after a brief talk at a picnic table, a few promises on my part, and a little bit of guilt tripping, he did everything I asked of him with little complaint. That's because he loves me back. At least that's what I'm telling myself, because he did say he loved me, but not that he was cooperating because of it. And he did swear that he would save me from snakes if one came out of hiding when we went to a spot he wanted. My flip flops just weren't equipped for snakes. Plus I'm a big chicken. In just over a week, he will be leaving us for basic training in the Army. My poor Austin is being left to fend for himself in a family full of girl cousins.

Pre-Prom Photos

I had a certain beautiful blonde girl reserve me at least 2 years ago for last Saturday night (even though we didn't know the date), and since I can't resist her I of course agreed. Somehow we managed to add a few girls to the mix, but it was fun. I love this age group. So, I bring you my beautiful niece. And a few friends.

My handsome assistant

Today I had a photoshoot with a large group and decided that just in case, I needed an assistant. Since my house was overrun with girls at the time, I thought the best thing to do would be to rescue the boy. The last time he was my assistant was nearly tragic, we almost lost him to a strong gust of wind when it caught the reflector. Luckily the father of the family I was photographing saw him and caught him before he landed in the pond. He has been dismissed from duty since, however we thought since he's had a growth spurt recently, maybe he would be safe. Of course, I forgot the reflector I use now is at least twice the size of the old one. But he only almost blew away once, and I kept him away from the water sources. Then I paid him with a huge Bahama Buck's snowcone.

Now. This assistant of mine is famous for not smiling. He makes a face that looks more like a snarl. As I was setting up for the family to arrive, he was looking around the parking lot and I thought "hmmm...this is my fave lens, he's standing right there and looking so handsome. Wonder if he'd keep that smile on his face if I asked him to look at me?" And he DID! So today, he gets to have his irresistible freckles features on the blog.

Fun on the bridge

I have been taking family portraits for our church directory. After we finished getting the shots we needed, little Miss Smiley got to go see the creek. Since I had a few minutes before the next session, I snapped a few extras on the bridge. Isn't she a doll?

Supermoon March 2011

I had to go outside and try out the new tripod on the "Super Moon". It didn't seem any bigger to me from where we are, but it was very bright while I was out there. I loved sitting outside in the middle of my yard, in the peace and quiet all by myself. I love watching the moon, but I'm not sure I loved all the strange looks I got from drivers passing by. If you click on the photo, it will bring up a larger copy of it.
